Project: Artwork Creation 2018

Project Description: This is for my everyday artwork creation. The goal is to create two new pieces a month. These will be medium to larger size pieces. They can be painting, drawings, pottery, sculpture or digital works.

Works of this size usually take time to concept, test, research and settle on a design. These are not for fun, but are actual pieces with meaning and hard work associated with them.

Project starts in July, so that means there shall be 12 new pieces by the end of the year.

July – Ceramic Mermaid Birdbath and Ceramic Rice Noodle Bowl

Was able to make it to school to check on my slab ceramic assignment. This is a small mermaid tail birdbath. Definitely a keeper pattern. I will try and make it a bit larger the next time. The glaze has an under layer of iron oxide on the tail. My thrown bowl. That’s right, I did it with a partially paralyzed right hand/arm. My professor likes how I chose to go angular. It has great balance. Now to make a set in teal. What can you see this bowl used for? #pottery #thrownpottery #ceramicbowl #ceramics #JaniceSanbornArt
